Queen Victoria. Please note that all branches of the Clarington Public Library will be closed for Victoria Day on Monday, May 21^st. Regular hours will be in effect on Saturday, May 19^th and Sunday, May 20^th.

Storytime in Gisele’s Big Backyard!

Gisele will be visiting Clarington Public Library, Bowmanville Branch on May 26^th at 3:00 p.m.! She is touring Ontario libraries promoting her monthly book club, featured on her TVOKids’ show Gisele’s Big Backyard!

Children are invited to a special storytime with Gisele. She will be available after the storytime for a meet and greet autograph session with her fans! The first 100 children in attendance will also receive a complimentary book, book bag, and bookmark.

Registration is not required, so drop by and come play in Gisele's Big Backyard!

The Pass the Book title for 2012 has been announced!

Clarington Public Library, in partnership with other Durham Region public libraries, is excited to offer Pass the Book for a third year! This community read program encourages everyone in Durham to read the same book. One region, one book, infinite opportunities to share your love of reading!

The title selected for Pass the Book this year is Fauna, by Canadian author Alissa York. All living creatures become connected in more ways than imagined in Toronto's Don Valley ravine. Fauna depicts a world where its inhabitants come to better understand each other's existence and discover what they must respect and share. Congratulations, Alissa, for emerging triumphant over the other accalimed Canadian authors on the Pass the Book short list!

This relaxed session is accessible to anyone, from first-time investors to those looking to retire; no understanding of typical financial jargon required. A portion of the session will be dedicated to answering investment questions from the audience.
