Videoconferencing Services

Book your video appointment, interview, or meeting at the Library! Clarington Public Library provides videoconferencing services for online learning, workshops, and exams; online meetings and appointments with medical, legal, financial, and social services; online job interviews, meetings, and educational meetings; and online social connections with friends and family.

Individuals wishing to book videoconferencing services must complete the application form below and be a Library member.

Booking Procedures

  • Bookings are available at all four branches. A private room will be provided at the Bowmanville, Courtice, and Newcastle Branches; a semi-private room will be provided at the Orono Branch.
    • Please note: due to the Outreach Community Hub, Videoconferencing Services are may not available during the following times:
      • Bowmanville Branch: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
      • Courtice Branch: first Wednesday of every month, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
      • Newcastle Branch: first Monday of every month, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
      • Orono Branch: first Friday of every month, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • The WebEx, Zoom, GoToMeeting, and Skype platforms are supported on a Library-provided laptop.
  • One (1) one-hour booking is available per person per week.
  • Bookings must made 24 hours in advance, and must be finished 30 minutes before the branch closes.
  • Members must have a Library card in good standing to complete a booking.
  • We recommend members bring a personal pair of headphones to help ensure privacy.

Health & Safety Procedures

  • To comply with physical distancing rules, only one (1) person can be in the room at a time. Please make a note in the Additional Comments field should your meeting require more than one person (e.g. caregiver, additional family member).
  • Non-medical masks or face coverings must be worn at all times while in the Library, except while in the videoconferencing room/area.
    • Please note that masks must be worn at all times at the Orono Branch. If your videoconferencing appointment requires you to remove your mask, please book your appointment at the Bowmanville, Courtice, or Newcastle Branch.
  • Please note that active screening and contact tracing will be required when using Library meeting rooms for this service. Staff on-site will complete this screening and contact tracing. You may also complete the provincial COVID-19 customer screening tool, and show staff the results on your mobile device. If you answer yes to any of the COVID-19 Symptoms, you will be denied entry and your appointment can be re-scheduled for a future date.
  • Only limited staff assistance may be provided due to public health restrictions and staffing capacities.
