Learn how to make Bannock pizza, salad, and Bannock strawberry shortcake with Chef Charles Catchpole

A digital $25 gift card will be provided for the first 50 registrants if registered by June 17. Gift cards will be sent to registrant electronically via email.

Charles Catchpole is an Anishinaabe Chef and Entrepreneur and is a member of Couchiching First Nation. Charles is a trained Chef who schooled at Loyalist & George Brown Colleges. He owns and operates CharGer Foods, selling a line of unique hot sauces and salad dressings as well as running a catering company specializing in Indigenous cuisine. He is also dedicated to Indigenous Food Sovereignty initiatives including working at FoodShare’s Flemo Farm where he founded Gitigaanes, an Anishinaabe urban micro-farm located in Toronto.

Join us Wednesday, June 15 at 6:30 p.m. for a special viewing of Inaakonigewin Andaadad Aki: Michi Saagiig Treaties: Defining Relationships between Peoples followed by a discussion with Anne Taylor, a Traditional Knowledge Holder from Curve Lake First Nation.

This documentary looks at the various treaties the Michi Saagiig (Mississauga) participated in between 1781 and 1923. There are 46 treaties that cover the lands of Ontario, eighteen of which include the Michi Saagiig. In Ontario, we are all treaty peoples. This documentary reminds us all about what that means.

About Anne Taylor

Anne is a member of the Michi Saagiig Nishinaabeg and Williams Treaties Nations. She co-ordinates Anishinaabemowin for Curve Lake. She is also a storyteller and former cultural archivist for the Curve Lake Cultural Education Centre. She works extensively in cultural education with schools and organizations engaged in answering the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.

Advanced registration required for each 20 minute session through the Tri-Regional Infant Hearing Program at www.childdevelopmentprograms.ca/bookmybaby or 1-888-703-5437 x4.

Children develop speech and language skills by listening and imitating those around them, but these skills may be delayed in the case of deafness or hearing loss.

Sign up your infant for a screening if you have hearing-related concerns, and learn about the follow-up services available to your family.

Presented in partnership with Markham Stouffville Hospital, the lead agency for the Tri-Regional Infant Hearing Program.
