Have fun and make new friends! Children and their caregivers will have an opportunity to play, explore and socialize. This is a casual program, please feel free to arrive late or leave early.

Also be sure to check out Stay & Play at the Sarah Jane Williams Heritage Centre on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Stay and Play at the Bowmanville, Courtice, Newcastle, and Orono branches on Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

Earn volunteer hours at the library! We are looking for enthusiastic youth in grades 7-12 to join our new Teen Advisory Groups (TAG). TAG members will have a say in library programs and services for teens, assist with children's programs, learn leadership skills, and more!

Students who attend TAG meetings will receive additional volunteer opportunities throughout the year!

Join us on Tuesday May 2 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for the 3rd Annual Resilience Workshop focusing on Stress. The workshop is based on the three main types of stress in life. “Acute Stress,” reaction to new and challenging situation; “Episodic Acute Stress,” frequent episodes of Acute Stress such as being anxious or worried about things you suspect; and “Chronic Stress,” high stress levels for a period. Attendees will learn about the three main types of stress through expert speakers, Q & A, and a healing activity to help recognize, build or strengthen one’s resilience.

Presented in partnership with the Carion Fenn Foundation, The Municipality of Clarington, Canadian Mental Health Association Durham, and the Ajax Legion.

Get the tax help you need at a free tax clinic, hosted in partnership with Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP). Volunteers will provide personal tax preparation assistance for low-income individuals and their dependents for the 2022 tax year.

The clinic is available for individuals without dependents with a gross income of less than $35,000, or for families consisted of up to 2 individuals and their dependents with a gross income of less than:

  • 2 Persons - $45,000;
  • 3 Persons - $47,500;
  • 4 Persons - $50,000;
  • 5 Persons - $52,500;
  • More than 5 Persons - $52,500 plus $2,500 for each additional person.
