Advanced registration required for each 15 minute session through the Markham Stouffville Hospital at 1-888-703-5437 x4.

Children develop speech and language skills by listening and imitating those around them, but these skills may be delayed in the case of deafness or hearing loss.

Sign up your infant for a screening if you have hearing-related concerns, and learn about the follow-up services available to your family.

Presented in partnership with Markham Stouffville Hospital, the lead agency for the Tri-Regional Infant Hearing Program.

Encourage your children to discover the joy of reading. Reading Buddies is an eight-week literacy program for children in grades 1 to 3 who need help with reading. We pair children one-on-one with student volunteers who help them practice reading skills and play fun literacy games.

Please note that this program is intended to improve literacy skills and interest in reading; it does not teach children how to read.

Please note that caregivers of children under the age of 10 must be present in the Library for the duration of the program.

Student Volunteers Needed!
Earn your community service hours required for high school! Please note that a three-month time commitment is required for Reading Buddies.
