Follow along on a tour of the former Mohawk Institute (1831-1970), the first and longest running Indian Residential School in Canada.

The virtual tour looks at the dormitory building prior to the onset of restoration work during the Save the Evidence campaign. Dating from 1904, the current building tour takes visitors from floor to floor and provides historical information with Survivor accounts of their time at the “Mush Hole.”

After the recorded portion, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and share comments with a Cultural Interpreter.

Presented in partnership with the Municipality of Clarington.

You may register in person at any branch, by phoning Member Services at 905-623-7322 x2712, or online using the form below.
