Help alleviate hunger in Clarington! From Sunday, July 24th to Saturday, August 6th your Clarington Public Library, Museums, & Archives is collecting donations of food and hygiene items at all locations.

All items collected will go to local organizations: The Clarington East Food Bank, The Salvation Army, and St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Items Most in Need

Clarington East Food Bank has requested:

  • Canned fruit
  • Canned chili
  • Canned stew
  • Large juice jugs (1L)
  • Jam
  • Cheese whiz
  • Spreads (like peanut butter or almond butter)
  • Oatmeal
  • Cookies
  • Kids’ school snacks
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Household cleaners, especially dish soap
  • Deodorant
  • Shaving cream

The Salvation Army has requested:

  • Canned fruit
  • Fruit cups
  • Instant coffee
  • Peanut butter
  • Nutella
  • Jam
  • Deodorant
  • Shaving cream
  • Personal hygiene items

St. Vincent de Paul Society has requested:

  • Sidekicks
  • Hamburger Helper
  • Cookies
  • Boxed crackers
  • Kids’ snacks
  • Pudding and fruit cups
  • Juice boxes
  • Sugar
  • Condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo)   
  • Toilet paper
  • Deodorant
  • Shaving cream
