Mobile hotspots are now available to borrow with your Library card! Get instant internet access wherever you go.
Access online learning and digital resources from home or connect with loved ones or co-workers. These portable devices allow Clarington Public Library members to access high-speed internet on enabled smartphones, tablets, and PC’s through the Rogers Cellular Network.
Get started by requesting a mobile hotspot through our online catalogue or by contacting Member Services at 905-623-7322 x2712.
Mobile hotspots may be borrowed for a three-week period. Holds may be placed on the units, but renewals are not permitted. Members must be 18 or older with a Library card in good standing in order to check out a mobile hotspot.
Internet service is available anywhere in Ontario within the Rogers Communications Cellular Network coverage area. International service and roaming are not available.
Members who borrow mobile hotspots are limited to 25 GB of data per lending period. Up to fifteen (15) devices can be connected to a mobile hotspot at once.
Clarington Public Library does not monitor, or store data related to users’ internet activity.
Members may borrow a mobile hotspot on a walk-in basis if one is available, or place a hold through our online catalogue or by contacting Member Services at 905-623-7322 x2712.
Members must read the Mobile Hotspot Policy and sign the Borrowing Agreement upon check out. A printed copy of the Mobile Hotspot Instructions will be provided upon request.
Mobile hotspots may be returned in-branch during operating hours, or through any external Library dropbox.
Each mobile hotspot available for loan contains:
Units that are overdue will be deactivated.
Members are responsible for any loss or damages during the lending period, including all components of the mobile hotspot and SIM card. Costs will be billed to a member's account.
