1. Will eMagazines work on my dedicated eReader (ex. Kobo Glo, Sony eReader, etc.)?
No – Other than a laptop or home computer, eMagazines will only work with devices that are able to load the Zinio app such as a tablet (coloured screen) or smartphone.

2. Can I check out a magazine within the Zinio app?
For each magazine you wish to read, you will have to return to the library collection available at our website. You need to work in a browser to check out your eMagazines.  The Zinio app is for viewing only!

3. Will the newest issue automatically come to the Zinio app?
The newest issue does not automatically come to the Zinio app.  Make sure you keep in mind the publishing schedule of the magazines that you like to read.  The most current issue is always available, but some magazines like Hello! Canada are published weekly, while others are published monthly or even yearly. Return to our library collection regularly to make sure you get the issues you want!

4. How do I return eMagazines?
It is not necessary to return the magazine after you have read it. You only delete what magazines you want to delete. They WILL NOT automatically delete.

5. How much data will each eMagazine use?
A “typical” magazine is 30-50 MB, and a “high-powered, interactive” magazine (i.e. National Geographic Interactive) can be 50-100 MB.  If you have several magazines on your Zinio app it will impact the memory on your device. There is no return date on these magazines but you will probably want to make sure you delete after you have read them to keep the memory available on your device.

6. Can I get back issues?
Yes, back issues are available for selected magazines! When viewing the library collection, magazines with back issues will have a "Back Issues Available" link below their covers. Click that link or the magazine cover to view available back issues.

7. How do I recover a deleted issue?
If you remember a recipe or health tip from a magazine you have deleted from your reading list – you can recover the magazine by following these steps:

  1. Login to the Zinio website;
  2. In the Your Library tab, select “View Removed” from the drop down list that defaults to “View all Titles”;
  3. When the list loads, click on the red button to “Edit your reading list”;
  4. Click on the + sign over the magazines you would like to add back to your Reading List;
  5. Click Done when you are finished .

8. Do eMagazines cost the library more money than print magazine subscriptions?
Overall, the Zinio product line does have a higher cost.  However, that cost is offset by the fact that there is unlimited use of each of these electronic subscriptions.  Every library customer across Clarington could potentially be reading the same magazine, where each print subscription may only be viewed by one library customer at a time.

9. I have multiple devices. Can I use Zinio app on more than one device using the same account?
You can be logged into 17 devices with the same account simultaneously, with a maximum of the Zinio app installed on up to 25 devices and the Zinio Reader 4 program installed on 5 computers.
