eBook, eAudiobook Holds

Our eBook and eAudiobook service, Overdrive, is changing their holds system to be more responsive. Members will have more flexibility and control over their holds, and items will circulate more quickly.

Starting the week of March 2, holds through Overdrive (including the Overdrive and Libby mobile apps) will no longer automatically be checked out. When a hold becomes available, members will have 3 days to check the item out, or you can choose to suspend the hold if you're not quite ready for it.

If the item is not checked out within the 3 day period, the hold is suspended for 1 week. Holds that are suspended maintain their position in line (i.e. you will stay at position 1).
