Kinark: Yakety Yak, Don’t Talk Back: Understanding Oppositional Defiant Disorder
Are you dealing with a defiant child or adolescent? Some children and adolescents tend to be more challenging to adult authority. Children who enjoy arguments, are easily annoyed, have difficult cooperating, and respond badly to disappointment may fit the diagnosis of Oppositional Defiant Disorder (O.D.D.). This presentation with psychiatric consultant Dr. Nugent will identify the descriptors of O.D.D. and will explore the view-point of these children. Discover strategies to help a child who is oppositional and defiant, and help eliminate some difficulties they are having at home and school. Dr. Kevin Nugent will be the speaker addressing this disorder.
This event will be held in the Newcastle Branch in the George and Kathleen Vice Community Room. Advanced registration is required with limited space available and can be done at any of the Clarington Public Library branches.
