Biographies

Online eProgram

Drop in; no registration required.

On Thursday, July 16th, walk in someone else's shoes. Discuss biographies, real life stories, and experiences of people around the world.

Kids Book Club

Weekly themes and challenges for your young readers

Welcome to Kids Book Club! Each week, we'd love to have you share with us what you're reading. You'll need to pick a book and a challenge, and then send us your completed challenge. We’ll have a theme of the week with book titles in case you’re looking for something new, but we’re also excited to hear about the books you may already reading!

Challenges

We're excited to hear about what you're reading! Pick one of the challenges below (or come up with your own) to share your book with us. Once you're done, send us an email at info@clarington-library.on.ca with your creation!

  1. Replicate the book cover with props at home.
  2. Create a scene from your book/chapter with Minecraft.
  3. Create a scene from the book/chapter with Lego or Stikbots.
  4. Create a scene from the book/chapter with playdough.
  5. Rewrite a different ending to the book/chapter.
  6. Paint or draw a picture from your book/chapter.

Week 3: Forest of Reading!

Friday, June 12th to Thursday, June 18th
The Virtual Forest of Reading Festival is taking place on June 16 and in case you haven’t had the chance to read any of the titles, this week we’re joining in on the celebrations and reading 2020 Nominees from the Forest of Reading!
